CSI best episodes ever COUNTDOWN … #1!!!!!!!!

25 Nov

And finally, for #1, an episode of the 5th season, called “Harvest”. I adore this episode. It involves a religious family that breaks down after the youngest daughter goes missing. As the story unfolds, we find out that the eldest son has been battling with leukemia for many years; and through finding the little girl’s dead body, we learn she had been pinched and probed way too much in her life, so as to keep her brother alive. I don’t want to give away the ending, but it’s a great story about faith, and pain and love.

Ok, so finally, that’s all. I hope this encourages someone to go watch some of this episodes, I promise that if you’re a TV fan,you wont regret it .

CSI best episodes ever COUNTDOWN … #2

At #2, I chose the acclaimed season 5 finale episode “Grave Danger”, directed by the amazing Quentin Tarantino. It’s probably the most famous episode of the show, and as many may know, it revolves around one of the members of the team (Nick) being buried alive and having his every move streamed live through the internet for his friends and family to see. The CSI team has very limited time to find Nick before his air supply finishes, blood-sucking ants eat him alive, or he finally has enough and uses his one available bullet to kill himself.

At #3 I chose the episode “Built to Kill”. It was the two-part season opener for season 7, and I chose it because it is a brilliant episode filled with lots of action and an amazing cinematography. When the episode starts, Captain Brass is recuperating, after being shot in the season 6 finale; a mayor character gets killed, another one gets drugged and kidnapped, and we get to see the ‘Cirque du Solei’ perform and John Mayer singing. To top it all off, we get introduced to a serial killer who has major relevance in the show: the miniature killer. And this episode is made beautifully. The photography is impeccable. The shots of the circus performers give you goose bumps and the soundtrack is amazing.

CSI best episodes ever COUNTDOWN … #4

25 Nov

I had another thing that I left behind and Im sorry for that 😀 … the CSI best episodes countdown. So anyway, trying to redeem myself –though im pretty sure no one was following the CSI posts – im going to post the top 4 episodes I was missing, in a row. I just have to say that these 4 episodes are all amazing in my opinion and it was very hard for me to choose an order for them. I will give them each a ranking but I think that the outcome is purely subjective, and I think many could disagree – and I don’t mind -; it’s a pull between strong stories, great story-telling, and amazing visual result.

First off, for #4, I chose an episode of the first season called “Too Tough to Die”. I won’t say much about this one, again, so as not to spoil it. You will notice that it is very different from what we are accustomed to see on CSI, cause on its first season, the show was obviously just starting to find its way, the image is a bit poor, its filmed on a 4:3 screen ratio, and the general technical aspects are not as good as what the show offers, but it is an amazing story: “what kind of system rewards the criminal when the victim is too tough to die?”.

Two new series I’m watching…

20 Nov

 NEW GIRL

It’s a new comedy, 20 minute long sitcom, and stars Zooey Deschanel and three other guys that are her new roommates. She gets dumped by her boyfriend and decides to move in with Nick, Schmidt and Winston.  Jess (Deschanel) is just a weird, over the top, school teacher that bursts in song at any time. She’s trying to fit in with her new friends but is incredibly clumsy and annoying sometimes. She brings new adventures for the 4 of them and very funny situations that are worth watching. It isn’t as hilarious as Modern Family or Community but still funny. Some very refreshing characters that I hadn’t seen in a long time. It’s nice to see more comedies since some of the old comedies that I watch are getting sloppy.

GRIMM

Believe it or not, it’s a series based on fairy tales written by the Grimm Brothers. It turns out that the Grimm brothers wrote the stories because they where true and they come from a line that could see the creatures and where destined to battle them. David Giuntoli (I think is the gut from the Superman movie) finds out by his dying aunt that he is one of the last decedents of the Grimm brothers and needs to protect people from the bad creatures. Also, he is a detective, and with his partners the start fighting supernatural crime. He is the only one that can see the creature’s true form. He also befriended a “Big bad wolf” that isn’t bad anymore, and he helps him understanding the creatures; as well as a big book that his aunt left him. This fantasy cop drama is really not very good. I found it a bit boring; it can be creative putting the twist on old stories but just didn’t do it for me. It has some interesting photography, very creamy, fairytale like, but not enough to make it good. I really don’t think is worth watching. Bad acting, bad visual effects and not so interesting stories.

AMERICAN IDOL alumni… HALEY REIHEART and CASEY ABRAMS’ new video… BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE

15 Nov

Hey… anyone watched the last season of American Idol? I didn’t have any espectations of it and just enjoyed what I saw that I liked, and I absolutely adored Casey Abrams. He was an incredible musician (still is). And I always rooted for Haley Reinheart, the underdog who made it quite further than I thought she would. Well, anyhow, they just released their rendition of the holliday classic: Baby it’s Cold Outside. Check it out.
